Piseco Lake Association Annual Meeting
The Piseco Lake Association (PLA) will be holding their Annual Meeting on Saturday August 15 at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Piseco Community Hall. Business items will include election of some Trustees and ratification of an amendment to the Association’s By-laws.
Following the business meeting David Moore, PhD, a member of the faculty of Utica College will be the guest speaker. Dr. Moore, at the request of, and with the collaboration of PLA Trustee David Wilson, has developed a one credit, Aquatic Invasive Species Course that will be offered at Utica College during its’ 2015 Fall Semester. The course offering will focus on surveying Piseco Lake, identifying all the aquatic and plant species that are observed at locations up to about 6 to 8 feet of water depth and then publishing a brochure that would consist of a photograph and brief write up for each aquatic species observed. This publication will provide all interested persons with a means to identify the plants that they observe in the Lake as well as potential invasive species.
Immediately preceding the meeting there will be a member appreciation breakfast at the Oxbow Inn. The breakfast will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 10:00 a.m. The menu includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, bacon, hash browns, frui9t, coffee cake, coffee and orange juice. Hope to see many members there.
